What a first responder sees when they scan your sticker

What happens in the seconds after a scan

The sticker holds no data. It carries a link, so scanning simply opens a web page: your public rescue page. It loads in whatever browser the phone already has, in a layout built for a small screen in bright daylight.

Nothing is sent anywhere and nobody is called automatically. The page is a read-only view of the details you chose to publish.

Does the person scanning need an app?

No. On iPhone and on most recent Android phones, the built-in camera recognises a QR code and offers the link. If the sticker also carries NFC, holding a phone a couple of centimetres away opens the same page — faster, but only on phones with NFC enabled, which is why QR remains the primary route.

Only the owner ever needs an account, to create and update the profile.

Which information is visible

Only the fields you filled in. Everything is optional:

• the display name you chose;
• blood type;
• allergies, conditions and current medication;
• organ donor and blood donor status, when you enable them;
• emergency contacts, with a tap-to-call button for each number;
• the linked vehicle — type, make, model, year, plate — if you added one;
• a free-text message, for example a lost-item note with a reward.

Which information is never visible

• your account e-mail address;
• your account identity — the page is reached through a random public ID instead;
• your password or sign-in details, which are never part of the page;
• any field you left empty or removed;
• the dashboard, documents, orders and settings behind your login.

Because the address is a random public ID rather than anything derived from your account, a stranger cannot guess another person's page.

Can you control what is shown?

Yes, at any time and field by field, from your dashboard. Removing a value removes it from the public page; the sticker keeps working and keeps pointing at the same address.

A good rule: publish what changes a decision in the first ten minutes, and nothing else. Blood type, a drug allergy, a blood thinner, two contacts. Not your home address, not an ID number.

What if you are unconscious?

That is the situation the page is designed for. It opens without a password precisely because you may not be able to unlock anything — a bystander only needs the sticker in front of them.

They can read your critical notes and call the contact you listed. Calling emergency services always remains a human decision, and it should come first.

Why this is useful during an emergency

• A family member can be informed within a minute, before you reach hospital.
• An allergy or a treatment can be mentioned to responders by the person who is with you.
• A vehicle can be identified without documents.
• The language you speak can be visible, which matters far from home.
